Obituary of Bryan Randolph Smith
Bryan Randoph Smith, affectionately known as "Biz" or to many of us as "Branny," transitioned into his external life on Sunday, July 26, 2020 at the age of 57 years.
Bryan Smith was born on March 1, 1963 in Bayshore, New York to the late Melvin Randoph Smith and late Alice Cornelia Benymon-Smith. Out of that union, Bryan was the third of four children in which he was the only boy. At a young age, Mr. and Mrs. Smith introduced their only son to Christ baptizing him in the Baptist faith.
Bryan was raised in New Cassel, NY and educated in the Westbury Union Free School District. In school and throughout his neighborhood, Bryan was known for his break dancing skills. His witty sense of humor, story-telling ability and charismatic charm was admired by many. He spent a lot of his free time with family in Harlem, NY where he also met and befriended a number of longtime friends.
In 1980, Bryan enlisted into the United States Army where he served over 2 years of active duty. Known to his sisters as a "mommas boy", Bryan returned home where he picked up many trades. He later obtained certification in Culinary Arts and obtained a Commercial Driver's License. Bryan spent the rest of his years working at various restaurants, hospitals and for commercial trucking businesses throughout New York.
Bryan loved his family dearly and was very active in his niece and nephews lives, especially his deceased nephew Charles Grange, Jr. His humor and strong family foundation was a recipe for success and will be remembered by every person that was blessed enough to experience him.
