Obituary of Dorothy Bryant
Dorothy Lynette Bryant (Affectionately known as "Bay" to her siblings, family and friends and "Bay Bay" to her grand children and great grand children) departed this earthly spirit on Sunday December 29, 2013.
Dorothy was born in Ridge Spring, South Carolina on November 1st 1947 to the late Booker T. Anderson and Inez Bush. She was the 2nd child of 10 children to the parents of Duan and Inez McManus and was educated in the Rockville Center and Hempstead School System. She was baptized member of the Shiloh Baptist Church and was married there by the Reverend Morgan M. Days. She married Jesse Bryant Jr., her high School sweetheart on February 18 1967 and from this Union Darrin and Kisha Bryant were born.
Dorothy worked for the New York State Department of Labor for over forty years and remained a strong and independent woman throughout her entire life. She also enjoyed her time being a member of the Daughters of the east Chapter #7, were she would draw on her inner strength
and resiliency when needed.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her children Darrin Bryant and Kisha Bryant, grand daughters; Lakisha Bryant-Gibson and Atia Prince; grandson Mario Bryant and great grand daughter Gianni Herron; Sister-Cousin Patricia Lewis; Sister-in law Denise McManus; Sisters Ernestine Miller ( James), Brenda Tanksley (William); Brothers Daniel McManus (Sheila), Ronald McManus (Maxine), Donald McManus ( Jacqueline) and Alvin McManus; and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and dear friends.
