Obituary of Ollie Lee Brown-Lucien
Ollie Lee Brown was born on October 31, 1943 in Horry County, S.C. She was the eldest of five children of the late Mr. John & Mrs. Daisy Grissett of Little River S. C.
Ollie's early childhood was spent in the Horry County public school system. She was in a class of just 42 students. Ollie was a good student and a great friend. She was a member of the Glee
club and was a member of the student council. She graduated from Chestnut Consolidated High School in 1963.
In 1976 she relocated to Hempstead, N.Y. Within that same year she met Andre J. Lucien. They fell in love and the next year on June 9, 1977 they were joined before God in Holy Matrimony! Ollie was a hard working woman. She did the very best to provide for her family. She worked for Jamisons Plastic in the late 70's as the office manager. And between 1978-2005 she was a private housekeeper for the Schultheis Family, who became more than an employer they became like family! She retired to devote her time and energy to care for her beloved husband.
As a reminder of her good works she leaves a strong legacy in her six children. Her beautiful daughters: Vera N. Brown-Stephenson of Little River, S.C.; Tydina Lucien and Christina Lucien both of Brooklyn, N.Y. & Monisha Y. Lucien of Roosevelt, N.Y. Her two strong sons: Ronald T. Brown (daughter in-love Angela Brown) of Portsmouth V.A. And Laval Lucien of
Pennsylvania. Her four grandchildren: Andrea C. Lucien of Little River S.C.; Shelly A. Brown of Portsmouth V.A.; Yevette D. Lucien-Key & Mekiah J. Lucien-McClain both of Roosevelt N.Y. & four great grandchildren: Jahnizah R. Wilson, JahMaurie Wilson, JahLaya A. Wilson & JahAndre K. Wilson all of Little River, S.C.
Ollie was also loved by many other children that called her Grandma Ollie! She knew them all from birth and loved them through all their milestones in life! Ollie also leaves to cherish her memory her siblings- Sister in law Gayle L. Brown; her brother John I. Grissett (Sister in-law Gail Brown) of Columbia S.C.; her brother Dale Grissett of Conway; her only baby sister, Sharon Shields of Little River S.C. And a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
Ollie accepted her invitation from The Almighty God on April 6, 2020. To welcome her home was her loving husband, Andre J. Lucien (2007); her Baby Granddaughter, Gabrielle L. Lucien-Key (2002); her parents John (2007) & Daisy (2000) Grissett; her recently dearly departed brother, James E. Brown (2020) and all her loved ones that have been waiting for her.
