Obituary of Cecelia Jones

On September 27, 1939, a beautiful baby girl, Cecelia Hagans, was born to Raymond and Beulah Hagans in Baltimore, Maryland. She departed this earthly life on June 7, 2020 and was reunited with her parents as well as her brothers, Cordian, Milton and Raymond, Jr. and her loving husband, Robert. Cecelia along with her family relocated to the Bronx, NY in 1945. In 1952, after years of building their own home, the Hagans family moved to Lindenhurst, NY. Cecelia attended Amityville High School (since it was the nearest high school in the area). In 1957, Cecelia met a dapper young man by the name of Robert Jones. They wed in January of 1958. They were blessed with a handsome baby boy they named Robert, Jr. In November of 1962, Robert Sr. was killed in a tragic car accident. Cecelia was pregnant at that time with their lovely daughter, Jennifer. Cecelia devoted her life to raising her children. As her parents got older, taking care of them was also a priority of hers. Spending time with her family was her greatest joy. Cecelia worked in the field of electronics at Aeroflex Corporation, in Plainview, NY for many years. She retired in 2003 after being injured in a car accident. In May of 1979, Cecelia was baptized and became a member of the Holy Trinity Baptist Church in Amityville. She joined the Usher Board and served for many years. In 2018, she was recognized as one of the Living Legends of Holy Trinity. Cecelia loved to read in her spare time. She was always up for a shopping trip with her daughter. Cooking and spending time with her family was also at the top her list. Cecelia leaves to cherish her memory: her children, Robert Jones, Jr. and Jennifer Jones; grandson, Robert Jones, III; daughter-in-law, Nicole Darby-Jones; brother, Kenneth Hagans; sister, Virginia Wadlington; adopted sister, Emma Davis; sisters-in-law, Connie Hagans, Cynthia Hagans, Delores Hagans, Jeanette Hagans, Mary Smith, Sarah Jones and Betty Wilds; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
