Obituary of Horace Anderson

Obituary Horace Anderson Sr. was born on 7/30/1939 in Elberton, GA to Audrey & James Anderson. He was the youngest of six children: Zelma, James, Gladys, Herman, Horace and Audrey. At the age of 16, Horace moved to Amityville, NY where he used the skills hus father taught him and began building houses. In 1962 he married Joyce Miller of Amityville. From that union were born three children: Regina, Horace Jr. and Lisa. Earlier on, he worked at 300 Bowl in Massapequa where he fostered his love for bowling. He was quickly promoted to the Manager and he went on to work for them for over 30 years. He was a phenomenal bowler and was also paid to play in tournaments. Horace was also a great businessman and owned real estate. Later in life he met his life partner, Jackie Campbell and together they ran a retail store until she became ill and later passed away in 2021. In Horace's spare time he enjoyed playing cards & checkers with his lifelong friends in Amityville. He also loved gardening. He loved to dress and had more suits, ties, shoes and dress hats than anyone we've ever known. Preceding him in death, his parents James & Audrey, his significant other Jackie, his brothers: James & Herman (Marjorie), sisters: Zelma (Coy) and Audrey. He leaves to cherish his memories his sister Gladys, children: Regina, Horace Jr & Lisa, grandchildren: Anthony, Janelle, Aaron & Justin, great grand children: Kameron, Legend & Rome and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
