A privilege to have his mentorship. He helped me to become "Salesman of the Year" in 1996. I was never managed. I was guided. He called me his thoroughbred because I'd take off and win, just needed a nudge here and there. I'll always hold those words so dear because "He got me."
If you came to my rehearsal dinner or wedding, he and his beautiful awesome wife Pat were there. Always smiling NEF!

Today, I really miss you.
You were the only man who could ever diffuse me (and still remains so). I learned so much in life and business when you were my manager. I remember driving through a tornado in Virginia because we had to get to an appointment.
You were the only manager that treated me as an equal. II had so much respect from the life you lived, hardships endured, and reaching happiness by staying positive-
I could use a heavenly pep talk. Big hugs to you and all that miss you. Meems!

It is with sadness that we hear of the death of our beloved friend and brother Norris. We so affectionately called him the "teachers pet" and the "quarterback". We can still hear his words of wisdom, "never get too high and never get too low". How we will always remember his sweet spirit, broad smile and consistent loving nature.
He was always active in whatever needed to be done and was never the author of a negative attitude or spirit. May the Lord welcome him into his kingdom and may many of us live a life such that others will remember him only in love and fondness.
With love and affection James and Casandra Edwards

In 1980, Mr. Francis lived a few houses down from me on what was then Seneca Rd. He decided then that we needed a neighborhood track team. My father knew a lot about track and joined with him as they coached the team together. The team was called the Lakeview Speesters. Mr. Francis was the positive motivator and the fearless leader. If I did not begin running track at that young age, developing my running muscles consistently as I grew, I don't think I would have accomplished what I eventually did in track and field.
In addition Mr. Francis had a way of engaging with young males in the neighborhood. We all loved gathering around him to hear his words of wisdom for us. He was one of the most successful men in the neighborhood, and was always very approachable. He always had a smill on his face. I know that Mr. Francis is resting in eternal peace with our Lord.

Norris Francis and his family grew up with our family. Back in the early '80s it was Norris who birthed the idea of "The Lakeview Speedsters which was a track team consisting of the local neighborhood kids, The coaches were Norris, Earl Adkins and Ralph James. Colbert Britt joined our group in the mid '80s. Pat and I were the "cheerleaders
and Betty James fried the chicken wings.
Out of that group of random neighborhood kids was Michael Reed, who later ran for the Air Force Academy.
Ralph James Jr, who was the Captain of the Harvard Basketball team and MVP for
four years.
Dianne Adkins who received a full track scholarship to Texas Southern University, Houston.
Tamika Franicis, who was the reciipient of a track scholarship to University of Texas, Austin.
And Derrick Adkiins who received a 5-year track scholarship to Georgia Tech.
Norris saw potential in the youth, organized it, enhanced it and had a TREMENOUS
IMPACT on their lives and our lives.
I didn't get a chance to speak Friday evening because there were so many who wanted
to express their experiences, so I will probably be posting again to share some of my family's experiences with the Francis'
Norris, we love you, and we will miss your joie de vivre., joy of living!

I was glad to see Earl again at our 50th high school reunion in June 2010. I recall how we talked about how we were always one step ahead or behind when it came to getting the top grade in class. I also remember him that if I made a score of 100 on one day he would score 100 the next day. I admired Earl because he was always the same nice guy,I never heard him utter a cross word and for my money he was best all-round athelete to ever attend Hayden high School. Friend I shall miss your presence but we shall continue our journey further on down the road.God speed my dear friend.
