Obituary of Howard Franklin James

Howard Franklin James was born to the late Garfield and Alberta James in Macon County, Alabama on August 29, 1930. He was the ninth of eleven children. He departed this life on January 15, 2014 at the age of 83. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and relocated to Long Island New York as a Federal employee at the Northport Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He upgraded within the Federal government by taking a position with the United States Postal Service where he retired in 1995 after serving within the Federal government for 43 years. Howard also worked part time for the Wyandanch Union Free School District until the day before he was finally called home. He is predeceased by son Talvin D. James and grandson Kareem James. Howard is survived by his wife Georgia James, sons, Leroy (wife Denise) and Derek, daughters Delores James, Linda James and Ranae Faustman (husband Kenneth), brother L.D. James (wife JoAnn). Five grandsons, Tyrone, Tyler, Sean, Derelle, and Trenton. Three granddaughters Vonichia, Taylor, and Shanean. Five great-grandchildren. Nieces, nephews and a host of family members and friends.
