I first met Amber at Yale University during the Youth Summer Psychology Program in 1993. She was amazingly funny, kind, personable, and one of the best people I have had the pleasure of knowing. She and other students came to visit me in the infirmary during the last week at Yale because I had contracted a bad case of chicken pox. She brightened my spirits with jokes and comforted me.
In 2008, we saw each other again on M St. in Georgetown when I was running my first marathon. She sweetly came out that day to cheer me on as I ran to her and we shared a hug. She told me she was proud of me before I returned to the course.
I cherish all the time I got to spend with her and feel blessed to have had her in my life.
I will never forget her.
