Obituary of Hazel Scott Stanley
Hazel Scott Stanley, a phenomenal woman; a sister, mother, grandmother, friend, wife and most importantly a devoted child of the most high.
Hazel was born in Paxton, North Carolina to the late Mrs. Magnolia McLaurin and Mr. O'Dell McLaurin on December 31, 1939 and went home to the Lord on April 23, 2015. Hazel accepted her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at the age of forty-four when she joined victory temple Pentecostal Church in Jamaica, New York. After giving her life to the Lord she consistently lived a life of service to the Lord and displayed an abundance of love to all she came into contact with.
She believed and knew with God all things are possible and with Him you can get through anything. After marrying the late James C. Stanley in May of 1990 she continued to be a caregiver to all those who ask. Hazel opened her home and her heart to almost all who needed. She raised her family to believe in the Lord andto strive for excellence. To most of us, Hazel held many titles in
our lives, she will always be missed and never forgotten.
She's preceded in death by her husband, late James Stanley, Anna Neil McLaurin, Johnny McLaurin, Nora Del Southerland, and Jame Lewis Scott Jr. She leaves to mourn one brother, George McLaurin and one sister, Carlitha Murphy; two daughters, Cathy McLaurin and Linda Scott; five sons Calvin Scott, Ronnie Scott, Michael Scott, Donell Scott and Lamar Scott. One sister-in-law Loretta McLaurin. A host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
