Obituary of Moses Rodney Young
Moses Rodney Young passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2017. He was born in West Islip, New York to Elizabeth Ann Young and Moses Young on December 12, 1969. He attended elementary and middle school in Bay Shore, New York. He went on to high school in Central Islip, New York where he excelled as a star football player and earned his nickname "Ram Rod".
After graduating high school, Rodney worked many jobs including providing body guard services for a number of music artist and boxers. Most recently, he was a certified shop steward for the New York City District Council of Carpenters. Rodney was a dedicated member of Local Union 45 for twenty-seven years. Rodney enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed football, classic and antique cars, cooking, music and dancing. He was an extremely talented artist and loved to paint and draw in his free time. Rodney touched the lives of everyone he met. He never took a picture without a smile.
Rodney is survived by his parents, Elizabeth Ann and Moses Young from Tucker, Georgia; lifetime companion, Choly Gonzalez from Central, Islip, New York; brother, Darryl Young from Chesapeake, Virginia; sisters, Angela Green from Laurel, Maryland and Loretta Daniels from Lawrenceville, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
