Obituary of Roy Martin

Roy Fitslogan Martin, one of three children of, Mabel and Haesty Logan Martin was born March 27, 1924 in Harlem, NY. He departed this life while living with daughter Judith Martin on April 6, 2017 in Wyandanch, Long Island. He began school at PS 92 in Corona, Queens and graduated from Forest Hills in Queens, NY. Shortly after that, he enlisted into the army and served in the Calvery, during World War II. In 1945 he married his childhood sweetheart Katherine Swift at the Church of Resurection, of which he was a lifetime member. After many years, he remarried Marvel Collins, aka Pixie. His working years, started at Lily Tulip Cup Camp. He moved to North Babylon in 1963 and worked for the United Postal Service as a carrier. He retired in 1986 as a US Postal Service Inspector. Roy loved traveling the world with his love Pixie. Together they have traveled to Paris, Hawaii and many other places. Roy is survived by son, Stephen Martin, Daughter Judith Martin, sister Florance Taylor, grand-children Kenneth and Sean Leonard and Franchat Thomas, 5 great-grandchildrens and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by wife Marvel D. Martin.
