To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven.
A time to be born: Harvey Bailey was born April 27, 1939 to the union of the late Mance and Lucy Bailey of Columbus, Georgia.
A Time to Die: Harvey made his tranition on September 30, 2017 after a long term illness.
A Time to Plant: Harvey met and married his childhood sweetheart Christine Jones Bailey. A Union with fifty two years longevity.
A Time to Pluck Up: That which is planted- Harvey brought his bride from Columbus, Georgia to reside in the Bronx New York and later moved to Amityville, New York.
A Time to Weep-These family members proceding Harvey in death are the following family members: Bernice, Lucy and Mance Bailey.
A Time to Laugh: A joyous occasion for Harvey was the arrival of his son Kevin Rochard Bailey (wife Nicole) 3 Grandchildren: Kevin Daniel, Brandon Nykolas and Paige Cheyene Living Siblings: Marjorie Smith, Ernest Bailey, Onita Carter, Ulycess Bailey, and a host of neices, nephews, and friends
A Time to Love: Harvey Bailey accepted Jesus Christ at an early age uniting with the St. Paul C.M.E. in Columbus, Georgia. He faithfully and actively served with the Hollywood Baptist Church where he was ordained as a minister in Sept. 1986. Later he joined First Baptist Church of Bay Shore until present. His love for the Lord lead him to study the word vigorously and persued evangelism. He became an avid christian counselor in the church and community. He often wouldhold bible classes in the barber shop.
A Time to Embrace: Harvey's career pursuits brought him to Grumman Aerospace, Bethpage, New York. There he was an aircraft analyst. Harvey was a most "in demand" master barber who embraced his haircutting skills and seized the opportunity to become an entrepenaur.
A Time to Gather Stones: Harvey was educated in the Muscogee County school district inColumbus, Georgia. He attended Manly Taylor, Marshall Jr. High, Williams H. Spencer Senior High, and Savannah State College. During his academic studies he was also quite a basketball athlete.
A Time to Sing: When peace like a river attendth my way, when sorrows like sea
billows roll, whatever my lot, though hast taught me to say. It is well with my soul.
