Obituary of Mark Adrian Cox
Mark Adrian Cox was born to Carlton Cox and Eura Margretta
Estwick on October 9, 1949 in Scarsborough, Parish of Christ Church, Barbados. Mark attended Wesley Hall Boys School and Combermere Boys Secondary School in Barbados. At the age of 21, Mark migrated to the United States where he continued his education in the study of auto mechanics. Soon after, he met and married Juliette. Their union produced son Damien.
In 1984, he met Margaret Davis. They were married in 1987. Their union of 37 years produced two daughters, Melissa and Michelle.
In 1985 Mark began his career as a bus mechanic with the Manhattan and Bronx Surface Transit Operating Authority. He soon became a Line Supervisor, from which he retired in the year 2018.
In the year 2020, Mark was diagnosed with colon cancer. The cancer later metastasized to his lungs and liver.
Mark worshiped at Huntington Church of Christ in Huntington, Long Island. On November 8, 2021 he gave his life to the Lord.
On Saturday, November 13, 2021, Mark was called home to be with his God. During his last days he was diligently cared for by his wife Margaret, children, family members and close friends. He was preceded in death by his father Carlton Cox and brothers, Colvin Wiltshire and Carlson Cox. Mark leaves behind, to honor his memory, mother Eura who resides in Canada, wife Margaret, children Damien, Melissa, and Michelle; granddaughters Irie and Marlee, son-in-law Jarell, sisters Marrietta who resides in Barbados, and Avonette, many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members and friends.
Mark was a compassionate, friendly, kind, hard-working and humble human being who always wore a smile. His commitment and dedication to his family and friends in his community was beautiful and long lasting. Mark left behind foot prints in every heart he touched. His memory will truly be cherished.
