Obituary of Janet M. Brown

September 30th, 1962 was a cold and dreary day in Small Heath, Birmingham England. Nevertheless, a bustling baby girl, Janet Wright, provided lumination and warmth for two proud parents. Her father, Ernon Wright, looking at her with pride, felt great joy and marveled at her beauty. Her mother, Cynthia Wright, looked adoringly at her first child. She, having suffered a miscarriage previously, was Euphoric. About two years later this growing family welcomed another girl, Julia. Christine, the last of the children for Ernie and Cynthia came two years after Julia. In Janet’s formative years the Wrights migrated to the United States. Janet and her sisters followed a few years later to join them at 30 Coolidge Avenue, Amityville, New York. Being highly intelligent and diligent in her studies, Janet graduated at 16 years of age from Amityville memorial high School. She then furthered her education at Farmingdale College, graduating with an associated degree. Janet worked as a claims adjuster for many years. If you had a conversation with her about the insurance industry you learned immediately that she was very knowledgeable and talented at her job. She had a natural talent for negotiating, which worked well in her chosen profession. Janet was so good she could negotiate a truce between a dog and a cat. She loved to cook, to arrange functions, and to cater to people; and she used her hobbies to facilitate spending time with family and friends. If you are a family or friend, you have tasted the scrumptious Jamaican delicacies Janet concocted. Her family and friends frequently reminisce about the functions she arranged as some of the best. And there is a consensus among her family members that Janet is one of the best at maintaining great relationships. A family is held together and united by special members. Janet is one of those special members. 1987 is the year Janet took the plunge and fulfilled a dream of hers to get married. Three years later Kayla, her first daughter, was born. Kristen came Eight years after Kayla. Janet’s greatest and most satisfying accomplishments were her two kids. To her, Angels are not as illuminating as they. The kids are devasted and will miss having conversations that lasted for hours; having at least one group hug every day; having support for personal friends; having home cooked meals; receiving personal attention when sick; having a cheerleader after personal accomplishments; having a protector from dangerous situations; and having an advocate to prevent trials. “My mom does everything for me”, Kayla stated recently. Kristen will miss Janet’s beautiful face. Janet was a warm and caring soul. She was an ever-present bridge to help many people catwalk over dire circumstances. Her main focus was her family, which none were classified as extended. If you were descendants of Henry and Mary Johnson (Cynthia’s grandparents) or Stephen and Gertrude Wright (Ernie’s parents) you were classified as immediate family. Janet has assisted with college tuition, funerals, financing cars, paying insurance, along with numerous other supports. She was the go-to person if you were in need. Numerous people resided with Janet over the years. She was always willing and found it difficult to say no if someone needed help. This natural gift of charity was also extended to non-family members. She truly had a heart of gold. Janet had an uncanny ability to overcome difficult situations. She experienced many setbacks and disappointments in life. Her mother and father divorced when she was young, and she also experienced a divorce later in life. Her mother, who she loved dearly, was taken away by a debilitating disease. Aches and pains caused by a car accident left Janet sometimes incapable of movement. Nevertheless, she always communicated with her family and friends. She always had an unlimited amount of conversations to share. She always had laughter and joy. Most importantly, she always furnished that gift of charity. Janet was the best of mothers, the best of Aunts, the best of sisters, the best of cousins, the best of friends, which is why she was beloved by all who knew her. Her mourners include her daughters, Kayla and Kristen. Her father Ernon. Her sisters Julia, Christine, Valerie, Yolanda, and brother Ernon Junior. Her nieces Nikki, Angela, Shalyse, and Nephews, Antony and Famous. Her aunts Dolly and Sylvia and an uncle named Keith. Janet’s older cousins include Ali, Beverly, Maureen, Jennifer, Hopeton, Norma, Claudette, Barbara and Patrick along with many other cousins who are too numerous to mention. Her friends are also too numerous to mention. Janet Mary Wright will forever live in the hearts of the ones who loved her. Your passing has left a piercing dagger into our hearts. You have left a legacy of love and charity that will be a model for us to follow. A void has been left in our family with your passing. We will never forget you. On earth Janet was as innocent as an Angel. The life she lived certainly prepared her for the position she now holds. Heaven inherited what will become one of their most prized possessions.
