She was later nurtured and raised by her maternal grandmother. Mother Hamm was united in Holy Matrimony for a season to the late Thomas Allen Stevens.
Mother Hamm was educated in the James City, North Carolina school system. She later attended Farmingdale State University where she completed her studies in Business Administration. Mother Hamm loved serving people. Her leadership abilities were displayed as she served as the President of the New York State
Foster and Adoptive Parent Association, where she traveled and advocated for proper care of children. Mother Hamm dedicated many years of service to this cause. She left no stone unturned.
Mother Hamm was greatly loved by her grandmother and was the apple of her eye. As an only child her grandmother taught her strong moral values and introduced her to the church at an early age.
Mother Hamm joined Pilgrim Chapel Church in James City, North Carolina and accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. Her love and faith in God increased as she began studying the Word of God. This spiritual birthing transformed her life forever.

Mother Hamm served faithfully to the end as a prayer warrior and Mother of Zion to her leader and the ministry that she loved dearly. Mother Hamm soared in her faith and commitment to ministry.
Mother Hamm loved helping people and learned the importance of being a servant while watching her grandmother sell vegetables in their home.
