Obituary of Elisa Range

Elisa Range was born December 9, 1942, in Bocas del Toro, Panama to Quintano Williams and Romelia Diaz. She was a dedicated loving mother of six children. Her first-born son, Harmodio Maurice Ellis preceded her in death. In 1959, she met Roy Vicente Ellis Sr. while visiting her adored sister Tia Alicia and his brother Walford, and when he saw her, it was love at first sight and they married. They had four amazing children, Harmodio, Roy Vicente Jr., Nelka Anayansi, and Edilberto. In 1976, she met Gregory Range, an active airman in Texas, they fell in love and married in 1977, moved to Cleveland, Ohio, and two years later they had beautiful twin daughters, Rashida and Jamila. Once her children grew older and started their own lives, she moved to New York with her loving daughter Nelka and lived her life full of wonderful and spontaneous adventures. She enjoyed gracing kitchens of her loved ones, visiting her children and grandchildren, playing her numbers, dancing, and enjoying a good game of Spades. She was so energetic and always ready to pick up and go wherever the wind blew. On August 4th she transitioned peacefully with no pain, surrounded by her children. To be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord. No one was ever a stranger, she would hand you a drink, a plate of food, and from there on you were considered family. Elisa will always be around us, in our hearts, souls, and minds. Elisa was an encourager, and a contagious force of positive energy. Her motto is life is for the living and God will make a way. Elisa’s legacy and cherished memories will always be remembered by her grandchildren, Jonte “Bee-Bop”, Jermeale, Julian, Vincent, Justin, Rashid “RJ”, Jayla, Hasan “Frankie” Jr., Dehani “DJ”, Trayvian, Tommy, Derick, Darin, AJ, a host of great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters, and infinite memories with her extended sons and daughters, Hasan Sr., Eusebio, Cassimus, Carla “Lisa”, and Gladys “Gigi”. Remarks: ~Oh Mami, so wonderful and gracious. The love you gave me was unmatched. You taught mewell, you gave me strength every day, and still to this day, I am learning from you. You neversteered me wrong, always gave the best advice, whether it was sarcastic or not, it was usually right. I have nothing but the greatest memories from talking to Frankie every morning before school, cooking Jayla bakes in the morning, and your flaming hot fish cakes you made for Hasan daily. I love you so much my Queen. May you rest peacefully with the angels. Your Mima.
