Obituary of Dolores Evangeline Trueblood-Nealy
On August 15, 1930, a blessing was given to the late Henry and Lillian Trueblood of Brooklyn, New York. A daughter whom they would name Dolores Evangeline Trueblood, affectionately called “Bee Bee or Bootsie.” Dolores attended New York public schools, where she developed a love for crossword puzzles. She met and married Robert Lee Nealy, senior in 1950. To this union, the late Robert Lee Nealy, Jr. (wife Linda) was born. Bootsie lived most of her adult life in the Bushwick area of Brooklyn until she eventually relocated to Atlanta, Georgia. After an extended stay in Atlanta, she returned home to Brooklyn, New York. Dolores’ favorite actress was “Doris Day” and one of her favorite songs was “Good Morning Heartache” by Billie Holiday.
Early on July 24, 2022, Dolores slipped away to join her loving parents, son, brothers Henry Warren Trueblood II (Tee Bow), Ernest Trueblood, Sr., Joseph Trueblood (brother), her sister, Ethel Swift Gibson (Runt), and her life partner, David (PoP) Bullard, and other family members in the eternal heaven. She was a devoted Catholic and adoring mother survived by one son, Isaya Nealy, eight Grandchildren, Darrell (Pie) Nealy (wife Stella), Robert (Chin) Smith (wife Vicki), Ronald (Ron) Nealy, Michael (Mikey) Nealy, Robert (Lil Rob) Eleazar, Robin (Sweetie) Nealy, Dexter (Dex) Nealy, and Monique, eighteen great-grandchildren, two sisters, Marie Dublin and Annette Days, and a host of great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
