Obituary of Carolyn Mitchell
Carolyn Mitchell, also affectionately known as Kathy Jackson aka (Cee-Jay), 60 was born in Hempstead, New York to the late Dilmus T. Jackson Jr. and Idell S. Easley- Jackson on February 1, 1962. On Wednesday December 7, 2022, Carolyn went home to be with the Lord. She was a resident of New York the majority of her life
Kathy spent her childhood years growing up in Wyandanch, New York. She came from humble beginnings, yet always had a zest for life. As a Wyandanch Warrior her accolades in high school included being class president, and captain of the varsity cheerleading team. She was a fashionable social butterfly, who loved to dance. Her
charisma & smile made her simply beautiful inside and out.
After high school she completed courses at a fashion institute in Long Island, New York. While in high school, she fell in love with Anthony H. Mitchell of Amityville, New York whom she later married on August 28, 1982, by Reverend Crayton of Holy Trinity
Church. They later relocated to Texas. There she honed her sales skills with expertise bin fragrances and was recognized to win awards as a top sales leader for Giorgio.
Together they raised a beautiful family of three daughters LaToya, Ebony, and Jasmine. Kathy cherished her family dearly and made sure to instill the love of Christ in her children as she always loved the Lord.
Kathy later moved to Upstate New York, where she faced challenging times in her life as she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Her battle was fought long and hard over the next 25 years. She always entrusted the Lord's comfort and care to remain
steadfast in her faith. As her MS physically progressed, she was taken into long term care at Southampton Nursing Home. During that time, she made a special connection with one of her main caregivers Christine, who protected and cared for Kathy lovingly for over 10 years.
Carolyn (Kathy Jackson) Mitchell was preceded in death by her parents Dilmus Jr., Idell Jackson and sister Annette Jackson. Kathy leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Anthony H. Mitchell; daughters LaToya, Ebony and Jasmine Mitchell;
granddaughters Maniyah, Madianna Pinet and Nacirema Martin; grandson Aronne Funderburg Jr; sisters Valeria Richards, Deborah & Elena Jackson, a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
