I am saddened to read the passing of Allan in 2014. I met Allan while in the Philippines, I am from the Bay Area in California, struck up a friendship, and he would tell me when he was going to the Philippines, seemed like 4 times a year and his travels and tell me that when he retired from MTA, he was going to retire in the Philippines. I also was planning on spending time in the Philippines when I retired also, not year around when I eventually retired but maybe half the year because of the low cost and ability to enjoy beaches and tropical lifestyle. I used to speak regularly with Allan on his (631) 356-5890 number, compare cost in the Philippines, he would call while at work to talk abut his last trip there or just to see when the next time I was going to the Philippines, as he discovered a new place etc, and we would share stories. I stopped hearing from Allan and assumed he may not be going to the Philippines as much or he may have moved out there. I called his number over the year and the number was another person so thought Allan just faded back in to US life or eventually did move out to the Philippines and got married or something. I knew he was looking forward to retiring in a couple of years and find a wife there and I just so happened to Google and had the strangest feeling of what ever happened to Allan and I see this sad obituary that confirmed my worst fears. So sad to see that Allan is gone and so sad to see that he worked all of his life and was looking towards retirement and never had a chance to enjoy his retirement, very sad to see the passing of Allan, Rest in Peace.
